At Kisasa Institute, in partnership with Multicultural Community Family Services (MCFS), our ESL & Adult Literacy Program is designed to help non-native English speakers build strong communication skills for daily life, employment, and community engagement. Our MCFS ESL program aims to build a strong communicative foundation for an individual. At MCFS, our well-trained and dedicated ESL teachers help the less privileged gain linguistic advantage through comprehensive lessons. We also look forward to providing immigrants with the opportunity to find a skill-fit job by improving their English communication skills.
Our experienced ESL instructors are committed to helping learners gain the confidence they need to speak, read, and write in English. We understand the challenges that come with learning a new language, especially while adjusting to life in a new country, and we’re here to support every step of the journey.
A Brighter Future Starts with Language
At Kisasa Institute, we believe that language is more than just words, it’s the foundation for independence, opportunity, and growth. Our ESL & Adult Literacy Program opens doors for immigrants to thrive in their new lives and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
What We Offer
In collaboration with MCFS’ Immigrant Support Services, our ESL & Adult Literacy Program provides comprehensive instruction tailored to the real-world needs of adult learners. Our program is built to:
- Access Employment
Participants will improve their English language proficiency to qualify for a wider range of jobs that match their skills and interests. We help learners build the confidence to navigate job applications, attend interviews, and communicate effectively in the workplace.
- Access social and educational resources in their communities
We guide students in discovering and utilizing valuable resources in their local communities, such as libraries, adult education programs, community centers, and career development workshops.
- Understand public and federal benefits available to them
Our program includes lessons that explain how to access important support programs like healthcare, housing assistance, food stamps, and more. Students learn how to complete forms, ask the right questions, and make informed decisions about their well-being.
- Converse with families, neighbors, and employers
Learners practice everyday conversations to better communicate with family members, neighbors, school personnel, healthcare providers, and employers. This helps foster stronger relationships and smoother community integration.
- Apply life skills taught in the class in their daily life
From reading street signs and understanding labels to managing appointments and budgeting, students learn real-world vocabulary and situations that empower them to navigate daily life independently and successfully.

Our instructors understand and respect the diverse backgrounds of our students. Lessons are designed with cultural awareness in mind, creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels valued and understood.
- Flexible schedules for working adults
We offer morning, evening, and weekend classes to accommodate busy schedules. Whether you’re working, caring for a family, or juggling multiple responsibilities, our flexible options make it easier to prioritize your education.
- Direct connection to immigrant advocacy and support services
Through our partnership with MCFS, students gain access to a wide range of support services, including immigration guidance, legal referrals, housing assistance, and health resources, all designed to help you succeed in your new environment.
- Pathways to further education or employment training
Graduates of our ESL program are encouraged to continue their learning journey. We help connect students with GED preparation, vocational training, and workforce development programs that lead to better job opportunities and long-term success.
